Google Chrome v12 portable

Google has always been seen as a company that is always at the cutting edge of technology and when it comes to software and online services it has never been scared of releasing beta versions to allow users to test things out before their final release. This is exactly what is happening with Google Chrome 12, the latest version of Google's web browsing software.

This stable version of Chrome offers enhancements for online security that enable you to protect your privacy by deleting cookies that are left behind by Flash - this would have previously required using a special tool from Adobe. Using a similar technique that is currently used to check the validity of web sites, Chrome 12 also checks downloads to ensure that they are not malicious.

New and emerging web standards are also supported. Modern graphics cards can take advantage of hardware accelerated 3D cascading style sheets and the fact that Google developer have decided to concentrate their efforts on HTML5, Google Gears has been dropped. There are also better support for screen reader such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver which can be used by visually impaired users to narrate web browsing.

Chrome 12 is now stable. New features include:

-Hardware accelerated 3D CSS
-New Safe Browsing protection against downloading malicious files
-Ability to delete Flash cookies from inside Chrome
-Launch Apps by name from the Omnibox
-Integrated Sync into new settings pages
-Improved screen reader support
-New warning when hitting Command-Q on Mac
-Removal of Google Gears

Note that this is the portable version of Chrome 12.
